Trustee Job Advert
Position – Board Member Location: Merthyr Tydfil.
Closing date: 7th May 2021 Interview Date: 19th May 2021
Cancer Aid Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting for two positions on our Board of Trustees
At Cancer Aid, we believe no one should face cancer alone. We provide support to cancer patients, carers and anyone who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis. We are an independent local charity, at the heart of the Merthyr Tydfil community. We provide practical and emotional support to patients from diagnosis to living with, and beyond cancer. We also provide family bereavement support. We are looking to appoint two new Trustees to join our Board in a voluntary capacity to help continue our mission to support cancer patients and carers living in the Merthyr Tydfil Borough as we come out of the coronavirus pandemic.
Our Board
We have a collaborative Board of friendly and committed trustees, who, with our principal manager and staff have established a charity that supports cancer patients and families at the time they need it most. As we move out of lockdown and into the post covid times, we are looking for two committed trustees to join our team to support our mission.
The opportunities
We wish to appoint two trustees who can draw on their skills and experience to help the Board guide the charity as it transitions to creating its new strategic goals for the future. We would welcome applications from:
• Those who are passionate about cancer care and cancer support for patients and families.
• Those who are committed to improving services within Merthyr Tydfil.
These roles are not remunerated. The expected time commitment is a minimum of 7 board meetings including an AGM, in addition to attending sub-groups or events where required. Preparation is required for reading reports and meeting papers ahead of any scheduled meeting.
How to apply
To apply or to arrange an informal discussion, please contact Tracey Burke on 01685 379 633 or email tracey@canceraidmerthyr.co.uk.
